Competitive League Details - Outdoor
The competitive league is offered in conjunction with Calgary Minor Soccer and is intended for those players who want to improve their skills in a competitive environment with scores being recorded and teams competing for metal placements.
Players can expect 3 or 4 outings per week, a combination of games and practices. Games will be played on any weeknight and on weekends, with half of the games being played at home and half away (consult Calgary Minor Soccer website for details re: playing district). For U10 players, the season runs from mid April to the end of June. For U12 players, the season runs from April to mid July. For players U14 and older, the season runs from May to the end of July. For those teams that qualify, the Inter-city Tournament will be held in mid-September.
Players and parents must be willing to commit to the entire soccer season. Tryouts will be held in March. Please note that registering for the Competitive League does not guarantee placement on a competitive team. However, any player not making a competitive team is eligible to play on a recreational team.
Equipment: Players must play and practice with soccer shin pads and appropriate footwear i.e., with non-metal cleats, to enhance player safety. Uniforms will be provided for all teams. At the end of the season, Competitive League players must promptly return their uniforms to the team Equipment Manager.
